Dr. Sonja van Kommer was raised in a medical family in Czechoslovakia and was destined to follow this family tradition at Prague University. Unfortunately, the Communist ruled state was an obstacle for her medical study. She managed to leave her country and, fortunately, got to Switzerland where she came across alternative healing. In order to study chiropractic she moved with her Dutch husband and three daughters to England where she graduated at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth in 1983. She started her private practice in 1984 in the Netherlands and participated in various chiropractic techniques at the seminars in Europe and America. . She has studied S.O.T. in Europe taught by Dr. O. Nelson DeCamp, A.K. by Dr. Christopher Smith, D.O., Jennetics by Dr. M. Jenness, Activator Method by Dr. A. Fuhr, B.E.S.T. by Dr. M. Morter, N.E.T. by Dr. Scott Walker, E.S.M. by Dr. Victor Frank and N.H.S. by Dr. Randall Frank. She has been fully concentrated on TBM since meeting Dr. Frank at his introduction to TBM at the Parker Seminar in Amsterdam in 1992. She would like to help and support Dr. Frank with the development and further advancement of TBM in Europe through her communicative and organizational skills, experience and good knowledge of European mentality in this field. She received the TBM International Service Award in 1997 and the TBM Doctor of the Year 2001. We feel honored to have her as a TBM Instructor.
